Materials, printing and die-cut review

Build each token sheet around handling, artwork and packing.

Board and thickness

  • 1.6 mm grey chipboard
  • 2.5 mm grey chipboard

The board option is selected against token size, stiffness and the complete component set.

Printing

  • Full-color printing
  • Single-sided or double-sided artwork
  • Front-to-back registration review

Artwork orientation is checked against the approved token layout and die-line.

Surface finish

  • Gloss or matte lamination
  • Smooth or linen surface direction

The finish is confirmed for appearance, handling and consistency with the rest of the game.

Custom shapes

  • Standard geometric tokens
  • Custom-shaped tiles and chits
  • Spacing and bridge review

Custom outlines remain subject to artwork, die-line and production feasibility approval.

Artwork file preparation

Prepare artwork around the approved token outline and sheet layout.

Share editable artwork and the intended token dimensions when available. The production die-line is reviewed before sampling.

Color mode

RGB or CMYK color images and grayscale artwork can be reviewed. CMYK is preferred for predictable print preparation.

File formats

JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF and TIFF are accepted for image review. Production-ready PDF, AI or EPS files may also be uploaded when available.

Resolution

Raster artwork should be at least 300 dpi at the final printed size. Check resolution after token dimensions are confirmed.

Bleed and safe area

Extend backgrounds approximately 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) beyond trim and keep critical artwork at least a further 1/8 inch inside the cut line. At 300 dpi, 1/8 inch is approximately 38 pixels.

Prototype and production process

Confirm the die-line before mass production.

01

Component brief

Share the token types, dimensions, count per sheet, quantity and packing requirements.

02

Layout review

Confirm sheet size, token spacing, bridges, board thickness and artwork orientation.

03

Prototype

Review the required sample for cut accuracy, registration, finish and ease of removal.

04

Production

Proceed against the approved die-line, artwork and quality checkpoints.

Punchboard and token FAQ

Questions before die-line review.

Final dimensions, shapes, artwork and finish are approved for each project.

Can punchboard token shapes be customized?

Yes. Standard and custom shapes can be reviewed from the supplied component outline. Final spacing, bridges and die-line feasibility are confirmed before sampling.

Which board thicknesses are available?

The current punchboard specification offers 1.6 mm and 2.5 mm grey chipboard. Final selection depends on token size, handling and the approved packing plan.

Can punchboards be printed on both sides?

Yes. Single-sided and double-sided full-color printing can be reviewed, with front-to-back registration checked against the approved die-line.

What files are needed for a punchboard quotation?

Send the sheet size, token dimensions, quantity per sheet, print direction, finish, target order quantity and available artwork or outline files.

What is the MOQ for custom punchboards?

The standard MOQ is 1,000 units. Final quotation and scheduling depend on the approved specification and project requirements.
